Elton Silveira is a senior at The Pennsylvania State University where he is majoring in Industrial Engineering and minoring in Engineering Entrepreneurship and Six Sigma methodology skills. He is heavily invested in projects that focus on Statistical Quality control and project management.
After securing his major, he decided to get more involved in clubs and organizations and was elected the head marketing chair for a Electronic Dance Music Club during his sophomore year. Here, he was able to sharpen his leadership skills as he led a team of 20 promoters. During junior year, he was appointed philanthropy chair for Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity where he led volunteer and fundraising events. During this, he worked with a start-up promotional company, Amplified in State College where he piqued an interest in entrepreneurial activities. He likes meeting new people and networking with them which is one of his main reasons of studying in the United States. When he is not doing academic-related work, he reads books, self educates himself on interesting subjects like Foreign exchange markets as self-learning is key to any intellectual individual. He also plays cricket, soccer and practices Tai Chi as meditation. He appreciates working in teams, as teams with proper guidance always seeks more success than an individual itself. |
